Medium-Chain Triglyceride (MCT, coconut oil)
This oil itself hosts a wide variety of health benefits such as boosting energy and brain power. This is due to its medium-length chain of fats, known as Triglycerides, which are easily digested by the body due to the shorter length fatty acid chains. MCT oil is the perfect carrier oil for CBD, as CBD is fat loving, the oil prevents it from being broken down in the digestive system and allows more CBD and other cannabinoids to reach the bloodstream, providing it with a higher level bio-availability.
Persea Gratissima Oil (Unrefined avocado oil)
Derived from avocado seeds, this oil is thick and super absorbent making it perfect for botanical products. Also known as Persea Gratissima, the oil contains a range of wonderful fatty acids and vitamins such as A, C, D & E. Avocado oil works amazingly within CBD topical products such as Nutrivive’s CBD moisturiser, as it consists of antioxidant, antimicrobial and anti-inflammatory properties. This helps with signs of ageing, by reducing the appearance of fine lines, psoriasis and many more skin conditions.
Helianthus Annuus (Sunflower oil)
Originating from the seeds of sunflowers, the oil contains a higher concentration of Linoleic acid, which makes it a wonderful ingredient for topical products. Linoleic acid is known for improving the skin barrier function and accelerating skin barrier repairs. Along with increasing hydration of the skin, sunflower oil also helps to reduce inflammation and increase the epidermal lipid synthesis.
Prunus Armeniaca kernel oil (Apricot Kernel oil)
Oil is derived from the dried seeds of apricots and has an extremely light texture, making it perfect for skincare such as our CBD moisturising cream. This nourishing oil is abundantly rich in vitamins A, B, C & E and other beneficial minerals. It also contains strengthening fatty acids such as Linolic and Oleic acid which help keep skin smooth and hydrated. While the vitamins C & E act as antioxidants, the vitamin A works hard to improve the skins natural elasticity and helps to repair the lipid barrier.
Olea Europaea Oil (Olive oil)
The oil is extracted from the fruit of the olive tree which is referred to as Olea europaea when in botanical form. This oil is rich in vitamin E, antioxidants and numerous fatty acids which is wonderful for skin. The antioxidants have excellent anti-inflammatory effects providing many different benefits, while fighting signs of anti-ageing. Overall, the oil helps to restore softness within skin, improving appearance and condition.
Cocos Nucifera Oil (Coconut oil)
Cocos nucifera oil is derived from coconuts which grow on coco nucifera or coconut palm trees. When used topically, this oil can be easily absorbed by the skin due to is shorter molecule size, making it perfect for topical products. This oil provides tremendous healing powers for skin defects such as burns, as well as providing wonderful moisturising properties, helping to soothe and restore a protective barrier on the skins surface.
Butyrospermum parkii (Shea butter)
Shea butter is the natural complex fat extracted from the nuts of the shea tree (butyrospermum parkii). The oil is rich in vitamins A and E. This is why the oil helps to repair the skin with its fantastic healing properties, as it works as a natural remedy for wrinkles, stretch marks and sunburn.
Limnanthes alba (Meadowfoam) Seed oil
Meadowfoam oil is a perfect ingredient for our topical products as it helps to regulate oil production within the skin. Its moisturising properties allow it to combat moisture loss within the skin, helping to protect the elasticity of the skin and reduce signs of ageing.
