“A nation that destroys its soils destroys itself. Forests are the lungs of our land, purifying the air and giving fresh strength to our people.”

– Franklin D. Roosevelt

It is each and every one of our responsibility to create a future where both people and nature can thrive and achieve a sustainable existence on earth. As humans we have quickly made this planet our own, with our booming population and our increasing demand of planet earths precious resources. In order to meet these demands, we have altered the planets natural balance so much so, that we are now responsible for natures survival.

Our species has cleared over 3 trillion trees, cultivated half of earths fertile land and fish in most of the ocean. As a result, the population of wild animals has reduced by 60% in just the last 50 years. We have replaced “the wild” with ourselves, our domesticated animals and plants and this biodiversity loss is one of the world’s biggest issues.

Without this biodiversity, our planet just simply doesn’t work. It needs its wild spaces and only if this balance is restored can the planet run efficiently and smoothly. Without the wild, the planet can’t cater for our species needs, maintain weather and help absorb our impact. Biodiversity equals balance and stability within our planet and it is the only way we will all thrive.

We are taught from a young age just how important trees are to the planet and to human life as we know it. They create the air that we breathe, filtering our pollution and creates habitat for thousands of different species all over the world. Trees can also play a huge role in preventing natural disasters like floods as they intercept water through their sophisticated system of roots. It is said that a mature evergreen tree can intake more than 15,000 litres of water every year. By absorbing heavy rain water trees act as a natural defence mechanism against the elements and give soil a fighting chance during harsh periods of weather.

Increasing levels of carbon dioxide caused by deforestation and fossil fuel combustion trap heat in the atmosphere. Trees reduce the effects of climate change by absorbing Carbon Dioxide (CO2) created by human activity, which would otherwise enter our already vulnerable atmosphere. In urban environments, trees absorb other pollutant gases like nitrogen oxides, ozone, and carbon monoxide, and sweep up particles like dust and smoke.

It is believed that a mature canopy tree can absorb enough carbon and release enough oxygen to sustain two human beings! Despite the importance of trees to our existence, we cut down vast amounts of forest worldwide for many different reasons including building materials, fuel and paper. When trees are cut down it releases the CO2 from within the tree and this accounts for over 25% of the overall CO2 created by humans.

“Reversing deforestation is complicated; planting a tree is simple” – Martin O’Malley

There is no better feeling than exploring the great outdoors. The feeling of clean fresh air and a deep connection with nature, promotes such a calming sensation, that has the ability to reduce stress and anxiety.

As us humans have made this world our own, it is now up to us to restore the natural balance the earth desperately needs. No individual or select group of people can fix this problem alone, it is up to all of us to do our bit and save our planet. Whether as a business or as a single individual, there are always beneficial ways that we can operate in order to help mother nature.

We are committed to continually working towards operating in the most efficient and sustainable way we possibly can and giving back wherever we can. This is why we are proud partners of ONETREEPLANTED.

ONETREEPLANTED are an amazing non-profit organisation, who work tirelessly planting trees across the globe, restoring forests that are vital to our planet’s survival, and for that, we are truly grateful. When you buy any Nutrivive product, not only have you become part of the Nutrivive team, but you can feel good that you have contributed towards making the world a better place.

Our mission is simple, we are going to plant 1,000,000 trees in the next 5 years. With your help anything is possible and we will not stop until we make this world a better place.

For every product sold = one tree planted.

“Although this is exciting, it is just the beginning. As we grow as a business, so too will our giving back projects. We aim to support ONETREEPLANTED and look forward to partnering with many more amazing people working towards the same goal… restoring balance” ― Team Nutrivive
